Frequently asked questions

Is it hard to learn to paddleboard?

Not at all. Most people stand up and are paddling comfortably within 10 minutes. We include a short on-beach tutorial: board orientation, stance, paddle technique, how to fall safely. Kids pick it up even faster.

What's the best time of day?

Early morning (before 10 am) for glassy water and wildlife spotting, or sunset (5–7 pm) for golden light. Midday is possible but can be windier. Our guides pick the best time based on the day's wind forecast.

Can kids SUP?

Yes. Kids 8+ can ride alone with an adult nearby. Smaller kids ride with a parent on the same board. Family rates available for 3+ people.

Do you offer SUP yoga?

Yes, on request. Classes are 1 hour with certified yoga instructors and held at sunrise on the Nichupté lagoon. Perfect for practitioners who want to take their practice somewhere new.

What should I wear and bring?

Swimsuit, rash guard (reduces sunburn), reef-safe sunscreen, water bottle. We provide the board, paddle, leash and life vest. Dry bag available for phones and cameras.

Can I paddle on the ocean side?

For safety we recommend the lagoon side (Nichupté, Puerto Cancun) — flat, protected, wildlife-rich. Ocean-side paddling is possible on very calm days with a guide, but waves and currents make it more advanced.

What if I fall in?

You will — everyone does! The water is warm, waist-deep near shore. Leashes keep the board close. Simply remount from the side and keep going. Life vests keep you floating.

Are crocodiles a danger?

There are crocodiles in the Nichupté mangroves but they stay in the deep protected channels. Our guided mangrove tours keep a safe distance — you might spot one basking on the bank. No incidents in over 5 years of operation.

Can I take photos?

Yes. Dry bags for phones available. Waterproof phone cases on request. GoPro mounts for the board available for longer tours.

What if the weather is bad?

Rain is fine, wind above 15 knots is not. If conditions don't allow safe paddling we reschedule for later the same day or another day — full refund if your trip is short.

Ready to paddle or got questions?

Our Cancun team responds within 1 hour. Same-day bookings welcome for rentals.
