Do I need a license to rent a jet ski?
No. In Mexico, jet ski rentals require only a valid government-issued ID (passport or driver's license) and a short safety briefing. Anyone 16+ can ride solo; younger kids ride with an adult.
How fast do the jet skis go?
Our Yamaha WaveRunner VX and Sea-Doo GTI models reach up to 65 mph (105 km/h). Speed is limited to 30 mph in designated zones near the beach for safety; open-water areas give you the full throttle.
Can two or three people ride together?
Yes. All our jet skis are rated for up to 3 riders, though 2 is the most comfortable. Shared rides cost the same as solo — the price is per jet ski, not per person.
Minimum age to ride?
Driver must be 16+ with photo ID. Passengers can be any age as long as they fit a life vest. Kids under 10 require a parent adult on the same ski.
What do I need to bring?
Swimwear, a light rash guard (reduces sunburn on the thighs), reef-safe sunscreen, and a valid ID. We provide life jackets, whistles and instruction.
Is it safe for beginners?
Yes. We start every ride with a 10-minute briefing: throttle, brake, self-righting, hand signals. First 5 minutes are in a slow protected zone until you're comfortable. Guides on all Isla Mujeres tours.
What if there's bad weather?
Unsafe conditions = free reschedule or refund. We monitor wind, wave height and rain. If the port is closed, you keep your slot for another day.
Can we take photos/videos?
Yes — GoPro mounts available on request. Not recommended to bring your phone on the jet ski unless it's in a waterproof case secured to your wrist. We can hold valuables on the beach.
Will I see dolphins?
Wild dolphins are common in the Isla Mujeres channel, especially morning tours. Not guaranteed — but maybe 40% of our Isla tours spot a pod. Sea turtles and pelicans are almost certain.
What if my jet ski has a problem?
Every guided tour has radio contact with the beach base. Rentals in the Hotel Zone are never more than a few hundred meters from shore. Rescue boat available within 5 minutes anywhere we operate.
