Where exactly is Progreso?
Progreso is on the northern coast of the Yucatán peninsula, about 35 km from Merida. It's a calm, authentic port town very different from the tourist-heavy resorts of the Caribbean side.
Is it good for families?
Very much so. The waters are calm, warm and shallow, and the vibe is much more relaxed than Cancun. Perfect for families with kids or travelers looking for authenticity.
Can I combine it with Cancun?
Yes. Many of our guests do a loop: Cancun + Riviera Maya + Merida + Progreso. Our team can help you coordinate the full itinerary.
